Workplace HR Solutions are available at-call to provide immediate advice and assistance as soon as an injury is reported (or even if you think an injury is about to be reported) to ensure an appropriate response. If required we can meet with your injured employee and their representative, assist in the completion of the necessary paperwork including claim forms and incident reports and then forward the “paperwork” off to your WorkCover Insurer.
Return to Work Planning
Intervention at this point is critical as it is important that we mitigate the liabilities of the claim regardless of the liability decision, which could potentially have an adverse effect on your WorkCover premium. If required we can discuss return to work options and consult with your injured employee and their doctor to develop a suitable rehabilitation and return to work (RTW) plan to try and maintain the employee at work where safe and practicable to do so. Any proposed RTW Plan will be developed in consultation with all parties, be durable, add value to both the injured employee and your workplace and will be progressive providing for a return to pre-injury duties and hours within agreed time frames.
We can continue to be involved in the return to work process for as long as you require or can provide coaching and mentoring to your RTW Coordinator as required ensuring the plan is progressing toward agreed goals.
Your WorkCover Agent has a limited time frame in which to assess liability on a claim for compensation. Workplace HR Solutions can assist in preparing the claim for submission to your Agent where the liability may be in question. This could include interviewing relevant staff, drafting of a chronological history and liaising with your Agent during the claims investigation process. We will also conference the claim with your Agent and yourselves prior to them making a decision on liability so as to ensure all matters have been considered and your interests are protected.
